This week I headed into the shop to grab some beans and when I arrived I found one of the roasters acting like a kid on Christmas morning. He was incredibly excited about something and naturally I assumed he had discovered some kind of magic bean that would finally allow me to manipulate time and space...but I was wrong.
My friends excitement was caused by the new bags his company will be using. Glee coffee had decided to step up and reduce their impact on the environment. They have changed their contract and now use completely compostable bags.

Ill admit Im a bit of a greenie at heart and these new bags made my day as well. With all the talk of climate change and the undeniable fact that Australia is facing extreme and unprecedented weather events. It really is past time that we change our habbits to live sustainably.
The potential of this planet to sustain and provide for living things is remarkable. The intricacies of bio diversity and the capacity of the planet to supply everything the human race needs to survive and prosper is a remarkable act of creation. Gods promise of sustenance from the earth and his command to interact with it was definitely not a mistake. From the very beginning of creation we see that humankind is to have a intricate relationship with this created earth. We are to care for it and in return use the natural resources to survive and rule.
My brother in-law rides his bike to work, my friend uses biodegradable coffee bags, the wife and I are seeking to reduce our waste week by week. We can all make changes to better care for our planet are we can make a difference.
If you need some motivation:
Species Population has decreased by 30% in the pas 35 years*
75% 0f world fish stocks are over exploited*
We throw away 8.3 million tones of food every year *
Australia has one of the largest ecological footprints per capita*
